Acrobat v.7 .jobOptions settings (mac or windows)
To make a .pdf format, first export your original application file as a .eps or a .ps file. Launch Acrobat Distiller 6.
- Under Settings, select 'Edit Adobe PDF Settings'
- Under each tab, choose the settings as shown

Choose SaveAs... and name your new .joboption (example: NJNewsprint.joboption). Choose OK and go back to the main window - see below. |

If you would prefer, the standard for PDF's is PDF/X-1a. If you distill a file with this parameter selected, that pdf is guaranteed to print.
However, if you select the configurations in the above windows, your pdf will publish correctly even without PDF/X-1a selected.

Drag and drop your .eps or .ps file on top of the distiller window. Acrobat Distiller will generate the .pdf file for you

- After downloading the correct .joboption setting, place the file into the 'Settings' folder:

- Mac OSX: Place into the /Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings

- Windows: Place into the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Distillr\Settings
