Adobe InDesignCS2 - Sending a .pdf format.
The illustrations below were made using a Mac but the settings exist in almost the same place, on Windows.

If you are working in InDesignCS2, please submit the file in .pdf format only. We do not accept original native InDesign files at this time. Here's how to make a .pdf from InDesignCS2.

It is necessary to set up the settings for the Transparency Flattener before you make the pdf.

You can download the 'NewsJournal' Transparency flattener setups from our web site. If you download and unzip this file, go to Edit, Transparency Flattener setup and Load this file.

Or you can make this setup yourself. Choose NEW and use the settings below to create a new 'NewsJournal' setup.

To do this, see the illustrations below:

Under Edit, select 'Transparency Flattener Presets'.

Under File, select 'PDF Styles...'. and set your configurations as shown below - or - you could simply download our News-Journal.joboptions here and load them by going directly to 'File: AdobePDF Presets'

If you choose to do the setups yourself, follow the illustrations below:

After selecting OK, this style will be available in the main window (example 'NJNewsprint'). Select OK.

Now to Export as a pdf, go to 'File', Export as 'PDF'. Choose the NJNewsprint settings and select OK.

Name the pdf (alpha-numeric characters and less than 32 characters works best) and SAVE.
