Please note that the News-Journal and Volusia Pennysavers can only accept native macintosh files built with the following macintosh programs: Quark Xpress; Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; Macromedia Freehand. The preferred format for ALL files is PDF.
What you should check for when creating your native document:
Is your ad Black and White or Color? Remember, we only use process colors on the press (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). DO not assign ANY pantone or spot colors.
Color Ad - All artwork & color information has been saved as CMYK.
B&W Ad - All artwork & color information has been saved as Grayscale or B&W Lineart.
Have you saved your images correctly?
Images should be saved as a .tiff or .eps. No .jpg, bmp, gif or any other file types.
All .eps files must have BINARY encoding.
No .tiff files should use LZW compression.
Image resolution
Halftones - For best quality scan images at 200-300 dpi
Lineart - For best quality scan images at 600-1200 dpi.
No art has been downloaded from the web unless it is Hi-resolution
File Information
My MAC file is Quark; Photoshop; Illustrator or Freehand
My file has been converted to PDF or EPS format
PDF Security
My PDF file DOES NOT have security enabled.
Fonts included in your document
Native Files - all my fonts are included with this document. I have included both the postscript and the screen version of all postscript type 1 fonts.
I have not used True Type fonts in my document.
For EPS or PDF files, I have embedded all of my fonts.
