Acrobat v.7 .jobOptions settings (mac or windows)

To make a .pdf format, first export your original application file as a .eps or a .ps file.

Launch Acrobat Distiller 7

Under Settings, select 'Edit Adobe PDF Settings'
Under each tab, choose the settings as shown

General Tab

Images Tab

Fonts Tab

Color Tab

Advanced Tab

(Optional) PDF/X-1A Selection

*only select this if you are sure you made your document correctly.

Save your settings with a name you will recognize. Like NJ-Newsprint.

Drag and drop your .eps or .ps file onto distiller.

Acrobat v.8 or v. 9 - How to create a good pdf for print

1. Launch Acrobat Distiller
2. Under Default Settings, select 'Hi Quality Print' as your setup
3. Drag the .eps file or the .ps file that you created in your page layout program (Quark, InDesign, Photoshop,ect) on top of this window. A good Hi-Quality pdf file will result
